I’ve been involved in crafts for over 15 years. When I first started, it was as a hobby, but then I was lucky enough to get work in the craft section of my local garden centre.
I currently work at Cardwell Garden Centre, Gourock where I have worked in the craft shop for the last 12 years.
About three years ago, a friend of mine introduced me to the world of Crystal Art and all I can say is that it’s AMAZING! I, personally I find it very relaxing and so addictive. The designs are stunning, especially the new range that has just come out.
I would say that my favourites are Crystal Art, Forever Flowers and Pretty Gets Gritty as they all have incredible elements from their product ranges, so I am able to do a mixture of various crafting.
Since I do craft demonstrations at work, I get to show off the amazing designs which the customers love. I always have one available for them to try out too, as I am confident that once they try it, they’ll love it just like it did.
I find they are suitable for all ages and abilities. We also have some customers who are recovering from or even have various health conditions, and one lady had recently suffered a stroke and she told me that she finds Crystal Art in particular, very relaxing and calming. Its easy to do and she can stop at any time.
I am very passionate about crafting and I love meeting and greeting customers. I LOVE the selling side of it especially when customers come back and show me what they have done. I have so many customers that are totally addicted to Crystal Art, and I can see why.
A lot of customer ask me what I do with all my left-over crystals. I often advise them when purchasing to sort your crystals and label them at the beginning before you start, as this saves so much time. We also have accessories and storage kits which I recommend to them as these keep everything together and makes crafting on the go sooooo easy.
Leftover crystals can be used in many ways, for example, they are great instead of glitter in shaker cards, create your own zen garden, make designs in glass vases by layering the colours etc but there are many ways to re-use them.
